Routine Cleaning
Regular cleaning keeps your decking fresh and slip-free.
-
Clean regularly with mild soap and warm water
-
Use soft sponges or brushes — never abrasive pads
-
Take care with pressure washers; used too close, they can lift the surface pattern (not covered under warranty)
-
Avoid solvent-based cleaners or wax polishes.
-
Stainless steel fittings may show small corrosion spots — clean regularly with a stainless-steel cleaner, taking care to avoid contact with other areas of the decking.
Protecting the Surface
Your decking is designed to handle everyday life, but small precautions prevent long-term wear.
-
Wipe spills quickly to prevent marks.
-
Avoid sun lotions, insect repellents, and rubber/vinyl-backed mats — these can lift colour from handrails, deck boards, and skirting.
-
Lift, don’t drag, furniture and planters.
- Animal claws or spiked footwear can leave marks on the surface
Winter Care
Even in colder months, a little attention keeps your decking in top condition.
-
Use granulated salt for frost and ice — never grit, which can scratch the surface.
- Do not use solvent-based de-icers or harsh chemicals.
- Decking surfaces can remain slippery when frozen, even after salt treatment.
-
Clear snow with a soft brush — not a shovel.
-
Sweep away pooling water; it’ll dry naturally.
- Always clear ice and use caution when walking on icy or untreated areas.
Gates, Spas & Extras
-
Do not slam or overtighten gate hinges; secure gates during strong winds.
-
Only place spas or pools on decking that’s been reinforced and approved for additional weight.
-
Stainless steel fittings may show small surface spots — clean gently with a stainless steel cleaner and avoid contact with the board
- Gates carry a 6 month manufacturers warranty from the date of installation.
Heat & Fire Safety
- Your decking is durable, but not heatproof
- Keep BBQs, fire pits, and patio heaters off the surface.
- Radiant heat can cause distortion, melting or discolouration.
- Use a heat-resistant mat or stand them on a separate solid surface.
- Do not use spas or pools on the decking unless you have authorisation from the installer or park that your decking is approved for that use
General Maintenance
-
Keep the gaps between boards clear to allow rainwater to drain freely.
- Water may pool slightly on new decks due to the smooth plastic surface — this is normal and will drain or dry naturally
- Brush or squeegee away standing water to speed up drying.
